Welcome!
jMetrik is a free and open source software application for classical and modern psychometrics. It includes features for item anlaysis, item response theory and test equating. The jMetrik Features page includes a complete listing of available procedures. For questions or help using the software, please contact support@itemanalysis.com.
jMetrik is a pure Java application that runs on Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux platforms. System requirements include 256MB of available memory and Java 6 (i.e. JRE 1.6) or higher. Almost all computers created since 2008 meet these requirements.
The jMetrik graphical user interface (GUI) combines a workspace tree, data view, point-and-click menu, and several dialog boxes for a user-freindly experience. The workspace tree and data view allow users to navigate large numbers of data files. The jMetrik menus and dialog boxes allow users to choose a method of analysis, select variables, and pick among the available options. Dialog boxes ultimately build the commands that are processed behind the scenes for running each analysis. Commands for each session are saved to a log as a record of your work. Power users may write their own command files or edit the commands stored in a log file to run jMetrik without the GUI. This method is useful if a user needs to repeat an analysis or run several analyses in succession.
Thank you everyone for attending the August workshop! You will find recordings from the workshop, research papers and power point presentations in the UVaCollab website. Use the log-in information you were given when you registered for the workshop.
